Stuttgart in October 2023

In October 2023, I had the opportunity to visit Stuttgart, Germany for the AAG conference at Stuttgart University. This week-long trip not only allowed me to engage in academic discussions and networking, but also provided me with exciting opportunities to explore the city's vibrant attractions and cultural treasures. Join me as I recount my experiences during this memorable journey.

Day 1: Nostalgic Delight at the Porsche Museum and Black Light Adventures

On the first day, before the conference commenced, I decided to explore Stuttgart's automotive heritage at the renowned Porsche Museum. This architectural marvel took me on a captivating journey through the history of Porsche, showcasing its innovations and milestones in the world of automobiles. From vintage classics to sleek modern designs, the museum left me in awe of the brand's rich heritage.

In the evening, seeking some light-hearted adventure, my colleagues and I headed to a black light game place. Here, we immersed ourselves in a world of glowing colors and excitement as we played mini-golf and indulged in various amusement machines. It was a perfect opportunity to unwind, bond with fellow attendees, and have a great time.

Day 2: Academic Pursuits and Architectural Marvels

The second day started with a visit to Stuttgart University, the venue for the AAG conference. Engaging in insightful discussions, and attending keynote lectures.

As the evening approached, we joined a study tour organized by the conference. The highlight of this tour was visiting the Demonstrator High-Rise Building, D1244, and the ILEK tent, designed by Frei Otto and Peter Strohmeyer. These architectural marvels showcased innovative design concepts and sustainable building practices. Exploring their unique structures and understanding the visionary approach behind them was truly inspiring.
